If you need to download an ISO to reinstall the full version of the operating system, you can download one from Microsoft here (Opens in a new window). Oh, did I mention delivery? 5 dats from 'buy now' to Postman Pat knocking on my door, so a full week quicker than the estimated delivery time.Update : Windows 8.1 is long outdated, but technically supported through 2023.

The only thing I really need to add is that I definitely won't be using the X91 as my new default controller. Sure, the D-pad is a little stiff (down to it being new) and some form of underside grip would have been ideal but even with those minor gripes it's still infinitely better than my chunky MS controller. One other weird 'quirk' is that it's very difficult to pick up the pad without catching a button and even more weirdly you do find yourself going into 'careful mode' in order to avoid a button press when grabbing it.īut the reason I bought it (and the reason I gave it 4 stars) was purely and simply to play retro games (scrolling shooters, Capcom Stadium stuff etc etc) because I needed a pad where I could comfortably use the D-pad and buttons without anything getting in the way.and that's where this pad excels. Triggers feel a bit tucked underneath as well but it is quite easy to adjust your hand in order to overcome that. The underside of the pad is also smooth so that takes away a little grip stability. It's something that's going to take a lot of getting used to. Because there are no arms on the controller you tend to hold it much higher up than normal (for grip) and not only does that limit access to A, B, X, Y buttons but also kind of makes the gap between the sticks + triggers quite cramped. Oh and it looks great.Ĭons: Due to it's size and shape it can feel a bit awkward to use - especially with the RT/LT and LB/RB. It feels well built and has less 'clicky' buttons than an official controller. Pros: The cable is huge and has a handy auto-split attachment around 6 inches away from the console, designed to separate the cable (instead of ripping it out of the USB) should someone trip over it. Firstly, if you're looking to purchase this as a direct replacement for your existing controller then you may want to think twice.
